The Knox Western Eagle Compressor line, introduced with the Series 4000 in 1990, is now available in four different frame series as two throw and four throw configurations. With maximum frame ratings of 1400 horsepower and cylinder maximum allowable working pressures as high as 7000 PSIG, greater compressor flexibility than ever before is now available from Knox Western.
The Eagle Compressor is a true balanced-opposed design and has a fully machined crankshaft to provide optimum balance and vibration free operation. This reduces the foundation requirements and your installation expenses.
The compressor's pressure lubricated frame, including crosshead guides, wrist pin bushings, connecting rod bearings and main bearing results in longer life of the running gear.
For critical applications where uncontaminated gas is required, non lubricated cylinders are available. By using reinforced TFE piston and rider rings, and distance pieces to isolate the cylinder from the crankcase, no oil is introduced into the cylinder. This eliminates the requirement for filtration at the discharge for oil removal. This also eliminates the requirement of recovering and disposing of the cylinder lubricant from the gas stream.
Eagle Compressors are available either as completely packaged units by Knox Western or as individual compressors.
